يركز المقال حول فكرة حوكمة التنوع الثقافي من خلال إعادة صياغة مفهوم التنوّع والاعتراف الثقافي والعدالة الاجتماعية والتمثيل السياسي بين الجماعات كركائز أساسية في إدارة التنوع الثقافي في المجتمعات الفربية المعاصرة بصورة تحافظ على هويتها ووجودها المستقل الذي يهدده خطر الاندماج والهجرة والانصهار مع ثقافة الاكثيرية ومن هنا ينطلق البحث من تساؤلات كيف يمكن للمجتمعات التعددية الثقافية أن تحافظ على التماسك الاجتماعي وتحقيق العدالة الاجتماعية؟ ، وكيف يمكن إدارة التنوع الثقافي والديموغرافي مع وجود الخلافات السياسية حول التنوع الثقافي؟ وكيف أثر ارتفاع مستويات الهجرة الدولية في الديناميكيات الديموغرافية والثقافية في المجتمعات المتعددة الأعراق؟. هذه التساؤلات وضع لها الباحثان إجابة توزعت على ثمانية محاور، تمثل تساؤل المحور الأول عن المنظور التعددي، والمحور الثاني المناقشات الحالية حول حوكمة التنوع، أما المحور الثالث فتضمن التكامل الخطابي والمعياري والمنهجي، أما المحور الرابع تضمن الابتعاد عن الجدل بين التعددية الثقافية والتفاعلية الثقافية، وتضمن المحور الخامس التمايزات والتكاملات بين التعددية الثقافية والتفاعلية الثقافية، والمحور السادس تضمن تعميق الصلة بين التعددية الثقافية والتفاعلية الثقافية، وتضمن المحور السابع إعادة التفكير في العلاقة المكانية والقيم المعيارية الأربع، وتضمن المحور الثامن إعادة صياغة العلاقة بين التعددية الثقافية والفاعلية الثقافية .
