The Legal Personality of Autonomous Ships and the Operation Controls(Comparative study)

The autonomous ship represents a new and advanced type of maritime transport, as it relies on a set of intelligent systems that enable it, to a certain extent , to navigate by itaelf, although this innovation is seen as beneficial to society by reducing maritime collisions, limiting pollution, and achieving faster transportation, it is not without challenges, this is due to the fact that such a ship incorporated artificial intelligence, without human intervention ,this raises the need ,fitst, to examine the nature of this ship, in which both material and immaterial elements are combined, question whether it can enjoy legal personality merely because it possesses the attribute a modern phenomenon in the maritime field, making them suitable for navigation requires the establishment of legal regulation for their operation to ensure greater safety, indeed, the operation to ensure greater safety, indeed, the legislative vacuum in the regard may lead to reduced public trust in such vessels.
