Abstract

Peaceful coexistence constitutes a fundamental pillar of (societal security) in Iraq, particularly in light of the challenges that have undermined social cohesion since 2003. This research highlights a multifaceted range of (constitutional, political, security, religious, cultural, social, and economic) challenges, specifically focusing on the period of the (ISIS terrorist organization's) control in 2014 and its severe repercussions. Furthermore, it addresses the complexities of (political quota-sharing/Muhasasa), which have weakened the centrality of the (national identity). The study explores potential opportunities to enhance peaceful coexistence and societal security by activating (political and economic reforms), fostering tolerance, and promoting (community dialogue). It also emphasizes the necessity of empowering national media, involving (youth and women) in decision-making processes, and investing in culture and education. Ultimately, this research seeks to establish a framework for a (secure environment) that places Iraq on a genuine path toward recovery, stability, and comprehensive progress.
