The scientific and technological advancements in artificial intelligence have led to the widespread adoption of diverse and complex applications. These applications often contain flaws due to technical glitches, programming errors, unpredictable behavior, or design defects. It can be difficult for consumers—whether directly involved with the product or not—to fully understand the intricacies of its manufacturing, technical details, or how to use it and avoid its risks. However, the developers of these applications hold a stronger position, possessing sufficient knowledge about the product they are manufacturing. The situation is further complicated by the involvement of multiple individuals in the development of AI applications. These applications, often software programs created by computer scientists and bearing trademarks belonging to either the individual developers or the manufacturing company, make it difficult to determine who is responsible for any resulting harm. Faulty AI applications frequently endanger consumers' lives, not to mention their finances. In light of this, concerted efforts are needed to find effective legal protections for consumers, a top priority for the legislator. This includes establishing the manufacturer's liability for defective artificial intelligence applications and their ability to compensate for such defects if grounds for compensation exist, while simultaneously guaranteeing the affected party's right to appropriate compensation through specific mechanisms.
