Abstract

This research aims to demonstrate the role of the educational process in fostering political socialization among individuals. It examines the relationship between education, as a fundamental social institution, and political socialization, which is a process designed to prepare citizens politically and empower them to understand and participate in the political system. The research stems from the question of the extent to which the educational process contributes to building political awareness. It posits that education plays a pivotal role in promoting political socialization through its various components, particularly the school, curriculum, teacher, and learning environment. The research concludes that the educational process is not limited to the transmission of knowledge but also contributes to shaping an individual's political character by instilling values of citizenship and belonging, fostering a spirit of participation, and developing critical thinking. It also reveals that the school is the most influential institution in political socialization, while the curriculum contributes to consolidating fundamental political concepts, and the teacher plays a crucial role in guiding learners political awareness. The research affirms that political socialization is a cumulative process involving several institutions. However, the educational institution remains the most organized and influential in shaping individuals political culture, given its capacity to reproduce political values within society. The research concluded that strengthening the educational role in the political field contributes to preparing a conscious and responsible citizen, capable of actively participating in public life, which supports political stability and promotes the building of a cohesive democratic society.
