Abstract

The spread of drugs remains a dangerous phenomenon and a challenge that threatens international peace and security and the international community as a whole, due to its negative impacts at the individual and societal levels. Indeed, it has become one of the most significant challenges to national security, having grown over the past two decades in the number of people using these toxins—males and females, young and old. This has made decision-makers realize the importance of confronting this phenomenon, which has become devastating to societies by targeting individuals and families. This makes the repercussions of its spread and effects a war more destructive and deadly than conventional wars, as it targets young people, who represent the primary workforce, the defense of the country, and the pillars of the future.
