The significance of this topic lies in its examination of a principle that has not been explicitly and comprehensively codified within the formal sources of international law, despite its clear presence in legal doctrine and the jurisprudence of international courts. The study under review sought to address a central problem: the extent to which the principle of legal certainty is established within the system of public international law, particularly given the international legislative lacuna in defining this principle and recognizing it through explicit provisions. The importance of this problem stems from its practical implications for the stability of international relations and for the legitimate confidence of states and individuals in the stability of legal norms. The research review concluded that legal certainty constitutes a fundamental pillar for the stability of the international legal system, and that its achievement requires a balance between the stability of legal norms and their capacity to evolve in a manner consistent with the needs and transformations of the international community.
